Discover Old Town Marbella

Brightly colored flowers making their way up on the impeccable white walls, sizzling hot paella, narrow pathways leading to beautifully decorated restaurants, refreshing ice cold sangria, babbling artesian fountains, and a big plate of chocolate dipped churros. All these and so much more make the Old Town Center of Marbella one of the most attractive tourist destinations. For a great time in this lovely place, make sure you tick all of the below:

1. Visit la Plaza de Los Naranjos (The Orange Trees Plaza). This wonderful place is the heart of the old town of Marbella and in my opinion, the best starting point for your journey. The plaza dates back to 1485 when the arrival of the Catholic Monarchs demolished the Muslim Medina to build the Plaza of los Naranjos. The colorful flowers, vibrant restaurants and gorgeous orange trees will definitely give you a taste of the fascinating and relaxing city vibes.

2. Eat Paella and drink Sangria. And since visiting the Plaza of the Naranjos gave you only a taste of the Marbella atmosphere, I’d say it’s time to take it to the next level and enjoy the full Costa del Sol package.

The restaurants from the plaza are highly recommended for their authentic cuisine. They offer a variety of paellas (fish, seafood or chicken) as well as tapas (appetizers) and other tasty dishes as well as a choice of freshly made fruity white or red sangria.

3. Get lost in the brightly colored maze streets of the old town of Marbella. After fueling with paella and sangria, it’s time to hit the road. And oh boy, what a beautiful road it is :)!

Here, flowers grow on everything, even on walls and they seem to like it because almost many buildings are covered in huge bushes of brightly colored flowers.

The charming maze-like streets surprise you at every corner with an elegant restaurant, a wonderfully decorated terrace, an inviting bar or a chic boutique filled with carefully crafted souvenirs. Between these vivid streets you can always find something tasty to eat or drink or something nice to wear or take home with you.

4. Enjoy a tasty chocolate churro. This finger-licking dessert is too good to be true! It’s crispy texture combined with the creamy sweet chocolate is to die for! And yes, I know girls, it might cost you another half an hour at the gym but trust me, it’s totally worth it!

And I’d say this is enough for one day in Marbella Old Town because after all, nobody wants a crowded schedule on their vacay, right? :))

Until next time!
